I like to think of "watchful" as akin to the Buddhist concept of Mindfulness.

Incredulous

You could do with a basic course in biblical interpretation...

One of the most useful tools I picked up from counseling was to "pay attention" to things -- my feelings, my body, my thoughts, my reactions. Talking about learning to fish and being fed for a lifetime! This one practice alone has probably taught me more than any amount of information. There is no dogma in this, and no error possible. It's just a means of watching oneself and learning about what moves and motivates -- and causes fear and anxiety, and induces sin. It's the beginning of awareness, and the beginning of freedom from all the crap. I don't know how else to start that process.
